Waynes verse was nothing special, you guys hype it up because he spit it in jail. Jay and Drakes verse was better.
This exactly. I swear anytime I say a Wayne song or verse is just okay, I get called a hater haha. His verse was just okay, a couple good lines. The rest was eh.
No, people are starting to see that Wayne went downwards after C3. That ain't got nothing to do with hate.
But I agree, Wayne killed them on their own song.
C3 was his lowest point lyrically and flow wise and yall ate it up.
No Ceilings>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>C3 in lyrics and flow. To be honest the only verses I remember from light up are Jay and Wayne's and Wayne did better. Drake's wasnt up to par. Not many verses on his album were at all.
"Haters temporary
Love is necessary
I went from eating p-ssy to eating commissary
Damn… I need therapy
You can buy the answers but you can’t afford to question me
First off I don’t need you second guessin’ me
Jail is like third base I’m comin’ home eventually
Still got shooters like hot tubs man im anemic, still got blood
I’m in my cell readin’ fan mail
Wish I was in Amsterdam sippin’ Amstel
Thinkin’ ’bout all of that pussy I can’t smell
Man they did me wrong I feel like Nelson Mandel’
I shine too hard my lamp fell
My name still ringin’: Alexander Graham Bell
I know you met damn ’cause you know Damn Well
That I still got you open open like a clam shell
Yeah, still fly on my hawk shit
My conversation stinks ’cause I talk shit
Stay in your lane you’re on that double talk shit
We eatin’ at the top get a spoon and a forklift
I got rap wrapped up like a gift
I’d be sober if gift was a fifth
I’m feelin’ like Elvis–jailhouse rock
I’m not Tupac I’m the New Pac
Behind bars but the bars don’t stop recordin’ over the phone
I hope the call don’t drop
Drizzy got the ball and I know the ball won’t drop
And I pray none of my kids never wanna be cops
Young Money get ‘em, Young Money got ‘em
The boss got his feet up, vacation on an island
Yeah and tell your girls send the kite up
And even if you don’t smoke motherfucker you gon’ have to light up"
Some songs on C3 actually got substance like Dr. Carter, Tie My Hands, Shoot me Down etc. Something that was nowhere to be found on No Ceilings, except for I'm Single.
Phone Home was more creative than all the songs on No Ceilings together.

the verse is damn near flawless.

woww one of the best verses of the song. u guys shud listen to the song properly again before yall hate on wayne. they shud do like a posse cut with drake, jay, wayne & either em or kanye on this beat. it will be sickkkkkk

Substance is not found on a mixtape...
and I'm talking about lyrical skill and flow. Wayne raps better on mixtapes than his albums. This is well known. Phone home is not creative whatsoever. "Feel like dying" is about a million times more creative than Phone home. Shoot some of his lines on random mixtape songs show me more creativity than Phone home. Whats creative about phone home?

are you really serious? he was freely rapping over beats not trying to make a NEW song on someone else is beat LOL... so you think he went downhill on Drought 3 becuz it had no substance? smh
^ Good lyrics have substance imo. So you can't say that No Ceilings was better than C3 lyric-wise.
Anyway, I don't think you can even compare an album with a mixtape.

You're right you can't traditionally but with Wayne its kinda different. He's known for those free association, creative, potent verses. He did that better on No Ceilings IMO. I see ur point that C3 had better SONGS as a whole though.
