Yo IGot5Onit you know what your talking about. Im the same thats when Wayne was the best in my eyes because Im one of those dudes that like the real shit more than the mainstream. Tha Carter 1-2 (There were a few very good songs), Dedications and Droughts, and LFLS, were his best in my eyes.

nah real talk, he was just outta his element...my favorite aspect about rebirth though was just how much fun it sounded like he was having. that's why i loved knockout (honestly the only song i genuinely like, everything else i have a complaint towards), because his energy was so free and you could tell he was having a blast. but you have to understand the critics who reviewed lil wayne's album were not reviewing it with hip hop standards, they were reviewing it with rock standards. you have to realize just how far rock music has come, and how truly experimental a lot of bands have become -- rebirth sounds like it got its influence from circa-1999/2000 mainstream rock (i.e. linkin park, limp bizkit, various poppy/mainstream nu metal) and that was unquestionably one of rock history's least inspired moments.

i still love lil wayne and i can respect his desire to constantly want to push himself. but as a fan of lil wayne and a fan of music i have my own personal standards, and i can criticize an album by him because he has set the bar so high in regards to his hip hop music that that's all i come to expect from him. i'm pretty sure lil wayne is fine with people having an opinion, especially fans -- it would be interesting if someone in lil wayne's camp were to spend like three years just showing him the world of contemporary rock music and seeing how it would change the style on what would presumably be rebirth 2

Bcuz they strictly thought it was a rock album and weren't really looking and embracing the lyrics, just listing 2 the beat and wasnt feeling it.

Also, in the mastering, you can hear an emphasis on the vocals. Not just an emphasis -- it is to the point that even if you were feeling the rock instrumentation, you couldn't really jam to it. Lil Wayne was too loud and the instruments were too quiet. It was mastered as if it was a Hip Hop album, which was another major issue that I bet not many people are even aware of. Mastering can completely kill what could have been a very soulful/amazing song.

Mike isn't the one who mastered the songs.

I luv'd it! -It was a great album, as a rock album, just to get it straight. It was a cool different side of Weezy we got, and I would luv to see a Rebirth 2, as long as he sticks to rap after that..

                          Rebirth,

Some of the songs were fitted the style, but others were just out of tempo, and just .. he didn't fit on it.

He should make a rebirth 2, the first one was FAR from a classic, but the ideas and the vibe on a few songs we're just something I've never heard before.

INSHALLAH he will make a new one, and inshallah they will be good.
