Song titles.
Wayne always names his songs things that make it sound like the greatest thing ever, but he rarely if ever reaches the potential of it. I actually wanted to make this thread before the album came out because i just KNEW this was gunna happen again. Like titles like G6. I KNEW. it was gunna be like "Wayne only raps for a minute on it." AND WHADDAYAKNO
Like seriously man. The song titles NEVER match up to the curiousity they generate because the potiential of them are never realised. Like BARS for example, why on EARTH would you name your song bars if you're only gunna rap a minute on it??!
This shit is massively annoying me because, did he go hard on the beat? Yeah, but does it live up to the potential the song name generates? No.
Which garners disappointment in the listener, and why we get disappinted in songs.
I tried to explain that as best as i can.
Cuz Im ngl i hated this album my first playthrough. But that might be because i skipped straight to waynes verse on every song my first time thru
so i fucked the experience up for myself
But nah, the album isnt a 0/10. But its not far from it Ngl. Hate me hate me idc
-verses are too short
- even though the verses are masterful (especially Can't believe you, best verse on tape)
Theres only a handful of verses like that on the lp, too much of this relies on ONE or TWO subjects, and based on what was majorily told on the tape, all they did was fuck in their hoods lol. We found out NOTHING substantial other than they came from the hood.
I mean if the album is just gunna be bars, (which i think is what they were aiming for) then they really need to rap more than a minute on it Because this basically feels like 16 New Wayne Features instead of full songs.
-No back and forth rapping songs. Potential missed. Look at bounce
-What's the point of the scenes???

Like i seriously replayed every track the first time thru like 10 times just to see if i missed something. Say what you will but i expected waay more of wayne rapping on the project. i will say the last half of the album (last 7 tracks from oprah on down) are FIREEE
I immensely prefer the last half of the album to the first. (maybe its because most of the first half was already released)
id say Cant believe you is the best verse on the tape imo, but transparency is the best song (since its my most replayed) i also LOVE the beat switch on significant other. he killed that.
but im massively disappointed with the length of waynes verses, and misleading song titles βthat lead to underwhelment.
wayne DID go hard on this album, but due to his verses being short, and half his verses just being his sexcapades, the replay value for this is unfortunately low

the albums not bad, but its horrible in many regards, and only saved by a handful of 10/10 verses at the end
i wish they wouldve trimmed it down (taken songs like Crazy Thick and PPA off, and added songs like Downtown to it, so we could get more rapping) but maybe my expectations were too high
