Mack probably helped with a line or two and probably asks him to tweek something and do things like "if you say it like this" or "if you said this instead it'd sound better" so that would be considered a writing credit even if one of his lines were used, Drake has discussed before that he does not write for wayne but when theyre in the studio they do that kind of stuff just to make the finished product better; theres nothing wrong with that.

I ask why there are writing credits for multiple people on the CD I just bought and without even acknowledging the question I've twice been accused of spam. It's an interesting defense mechanism. When something you love is challenged, it must be a SPAMMER! But I'm not a spammer, nor am I trolling. I'm simply a Lil Wayne fan like you who had a question.

I've done a bit of googling myself. Outside of a few questionable references to having a "team of ghost writers" and some accusations by Gillie Da Kid I couldn't find anything so that's why I came here. Usually you guys seem to know what's up when it comes to Lil Wayne but I'm guessing I've stumped you guys? I was hoping there was some explanation behind it, but judging by the responses so far I'm guessing there isn't one. Kind of disappointing. It's not like I'm going to sell off all my CDs and empty off my iPod. I still love the music. I was just hoping there was some sort of explanation out there.

Thanks TheRealJoseph for being the first and only user to have taken the time out to actually respond to my question respectfully.
Your thread is valid and has nothing wrong with it d/w

That's kind of the way I was leaning. I mean it seems probable given the videos out there of Wayne in the studio, usually there are a lot of people around joking back and forth and commenting. Must be a nightmare to figure out royalties and what not, I guess that's the pessimistic view. On the positive side it would be an insanely easy way to make a pay check. I figured out Mack Maine in the list of writers, but I have no clue who half of those guys are.

                  Thanks for the input folks.

producers also get writing credit, I don't think wikipedia has it up set up properly. If you for instance go to WTT wikipedia it gives you a bunch of names under writing credit ...including producers. It's probably whoever contributed to the track one way or another ..that's all. It doesn't mean he didn't actually come up with all the lyrics by himself.

Re: Did Lil Wayne have others write the Carter IV for him?

                      Of course he had help....

Mirror- Had the hook and the beat before Wayne even knew the record existed he just added his verse
John - Rick Ross wrote most of the hook and has two verse...Wayne just added his 2 verse and sung over some of the chorus
How to Hate - We already knew T Pain wrote this record...Wayne just added his adlibs and two verses
Interlude/Outro - He didn't contribute to these songs at tall, so of course there will be other writers on it.
She Will - Drake already had the hook and Rick Ross' verse for his album....he gave it to Wayne....so all Wayne had to do was add his verses

You know whats funny, only a handful of artist completely make their own music...

And for a lot of songs Universal probably get song writers to help write the hooks but not the actual lyrics. Or they may help structure or help form the song
