grammys are a popularity contest.

It also got extremely positive reviews. It's all subjective and opinion based obviously, I just don't see what makes the album average C4 I can understand, not C3 though.

Probly because songs like Got Money, Mrs Officer, and Comfortable. Other songs go hard though.

eminem is about in pocket with critics.
as you could get. he even said the album was meh.
but that didnt stop him from receiving the award.

and if youve heard the ecstatic or the renaissance.
then you know either of those shouldve of won the grammy.

i dont think c3 is average.
probably good. but definitely not great.
it has has four really really weak records.
i know three peat is lauded on here.
but he really stop spitting on that a third of the way.
a milli couldve been two verses long. comfortable was good.
but old as shit. but that only matters if youre a wayne fan.

dr carter and tie my hands are the stand outs.
shoot me down coming after that.
let the beat build after that.
i always liked how he started playing with fire.
but theres not really too much to that song beyond that.
you aint got nothin is a random ass record. but it was cool.
and dont get it is barely a song. but the verse was nice.

and i know wayne isnt the most cohesive artist.
but the first two carters were constructed. they were built.
the carter 3 was thrown together. its cheap.
and on top of that its has this mainstream polish to it.
waynes best sshit is when its rough around the edges.
but i mean whatever. i still enjoyed it.

Did It Before is awful imo

But most of the songs on C3 Sessions are good.

That song is full of wordplay. I find it more creative than the final outcome of the album. Also, that Kanye beat is better than Comfortable and Let The Beat Build IMO.

carter 3 is average lyrically. But as a whole it's a great, diverse album. the carter 4 was below average lyrically and as a whole i think it was average. I wanna see wayne grow lyrically and conceptually. Carter 2 is right now his peak lyrically. I'd love for him to hop on the murder to excellence beat and talk about black on black crime and empowerment like kanye and jay did.


What was so great about biggie is he touch all areas. I think we're seeing hints of growth with wayne (conceptually) but we're (I'm) impatient.

Overall.. it didn't leave to the hype but it was very well.

why ask him to do what kanye and jay already have done?

id like to see him take the oddball spaced out style of drought 3.
and combine with the narrative and refined style of carter two.

i think thatll drive him further in his own head.
and allow him to be as creative as he wants to be.
especially if he jumps over some beats that are as creative as he is.

Obviously it got good reviews once it came out... On Metacritic 23 of the 26 reviews are positive, none are negative. That in general is an extremely positive review.
