The New Orleans Police Department had their hands full, this past monday when a small group of men decided to protest in order to free rapper Lil Boosie, and argue Wayne's upcoming one year sentencing.
As reported by the Times-Picayune "off duty officers saw men spray painting the words 'Free Lil Wayne' on the side of a building", along with the spray paint on the wall, these same men had also placed a banner on a seperate street which also demanded for the freedom of Boosie and Wayne, then used police barricades and garbage cans to block off traffic from one of the streets during their protest.
With no permit for their unorganized protest, the police showed up shortly after being informed of the incident and captured the fleeing men. They were charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest by flight, and criminal damage to property.
The protest demanded for authorities to free Boosie who was sentenced to four years in prison after violating his parole by being caught with a gun and marijuana in late 2008. Boosie was recently in the news saying that he needed rehab not jailtime and expressed remorse and a little anger over his sentencing.
Wayne who is not officially in prison yet, will be sentenced to one year in prison on December 15th for carryin an illegal weapon in New York, after a gun was found in his tour bus.
