I know a lot of yal been coming at me for my takes on this og cv or my takes on the one we got. HERES WHAT I GOT TO SAY. I know some of yal feel this way. When I got into Wayne, what separated him from everybody else was his flow and his feel. He just sounded and felt different and rode beats in ways no one did. And he switched up his rhyme schemes better than anyone. And when he went through his 08-11 pop phase he was on another level with it with coming up with new flows and voices. On top of that his vibe always stood out. Whether it was the cold hard delivery, that laid back u can’t fuck with me flow, or the pop idgaf flare he always brought some style to his stuff. When I thought of C5, THATS WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. I was severely disappointed. There was almost none of it. Outside of a handful of songs, he just didn’t sound like Wayne. There was no laughing, there was no swag, confidence, or flare. That’s what makes Wayne to me. We know he can spit, but he knows it too, which aids in his style. C5 just didn’t sound like someone who was debatably the greatest rapper who ever lived and knew it.
NOW THE OG ONE. That sounded like the Wayne I know. He sounded more confident on Never Really Mattered than half of the C5 we got. He was switching up flows and using rhyme schemes that surprise u. “Knock on wood my momma good, knock twice cuz she gave my life don’t forget that your honor could man niggas be Jackin these days only theif I know is Robin Hood, I’ll pay for tht trial nigga, gotta protect my livelihood, Look at all the bullshit I’ve endured, my lawyer said I’ve matured” that was tht 09 no ceilings flow and rhyme scheme. Scottie Pippen was tht old school u gone feel me by the end of this verse and goddamit Ima feel myself too. He didn’t feel himself enough on the real one. Lol no homo. But the vibe was so much better. There was more emotion. Form good sounds like a rapper who feels he can do no wrong.
AND IF I DONT SHES MINE. That’s all I wanted. That second verse sounds straight out of Wayne’s prime. That was 09-11 pop Wayne flow with his 2014 voice. That sht was legendary and what made him the greatest rapper of all time. No one can make a verse like that in MUSIC. That’s why I say fuck rap Wayne is one of the greatest ARTISTS ever. He’s on some Michael Jackson type beat and destroying it. As well as Take It Slow. C5 had some great songs too. I’m just sayin.
Hittas , Let it fly, uproar, dope niggaz ( for the most part) perfect Strangers, let it All Workout, What About me, start This sht off right, Mona Lisa, demon, and dope New Gospel are great. Other than that it’s not that memberable. I just said there’s no way out of all the songs Wayne recorded during those 5-6 years that those were the best 23 y’all had. And og c5 proves that to be correct.
And he was spitting on my niggaz and better get em.
“If she bottle me up I’d be a lousy as drunk” he didn’t rhyme like that at all on the new c5. Robin Hood, I’ve endured. Tht sht is tht Wayne like rhyming I was waiting for.
Even that flow on weak on tht first verse was crazy. That’s all I wanted. A flow that only Wayne could even imagine.
Long story short the original c5 didn’t display Wayne’s full package. The og was a much better display of how great Wayne is.
