Agree total package is the issue. Lots of other artists could deliver and were very popular in the mainstream then but none were approaching him in terms of the intangibles like personality. And also the sheer volume of output and consistent quality in that volume. That's how I think of it. Not just could they keep up but did they have the same creativity etc and I think the answer is no

In terms of who was closest though, to me it was just Kanye.

Outside of the singles? Yes. There’s a reason why Carter III is still talked about and Paper Trail isn’t

              Paper Trail is so overrated.

King, Urban Legend, and Trap Muzik >>>> Paper Trail.

              C1 and C2 > C3.

Wiz and T-Pain? Come on man. Wiz is an average at best lyricist...T-Pain, super meh. Juelz was dope, but some of yall think he was like some GOAT, he was average most of his career except for this portion where he was above average. He was never elite. Kanye = above average. I'll give you Jeezy and TI, but they weren't on Wayne's level.

I still don't think any of them were that close to Wayne as far as the quality that Wayne was putting out in is prime.

But got damn everything you stated are 100% true.

Because we are talking about skill - so if you're average, you're not in the same building as Wayne. So yeah, you picked a few poor examples. Making catchy tunes does not equal being on Wayne's level.

If you want to talk about "popularity" sure ... but if we are talking about talent and who had the best BARS during that era it was Wayne, a bit of a gap then Royce, Phonte, TI, Elzhi, Jeezy.

Ion believe that was the question!
The question was who was close to Wayne in his prime.
I didn’t see nothing that says who was lyrically as good as Wayne in his prime.

If we talking bout popularity in the game and the go to for the hits and all that my list stands

Lyrics and all that it was a bunch ...... you adding Royce is a duh. That’s like me saying Black Thought Or Lupe Or Somebody.
