Is that too much to ask? Plz Wayne

Ps: don’t make it like funeral. I know you do what you want but don’t make it like funeral
It's not though and you know it hasn't....

Eh definitely not his best year, but wouldn't call it an L. He wasn't really aiming for anything this year. Funeral was purely experimental. The podcast might've been scripted but it was well done; epic features and conversations. Re-release of FWA and No Ceilings was hype af (especially no ceilings)

Personally, I'm waiting for no ceilings 3 before I make a final verdict lol (HOPEFULLY will come out this year...)

most of us know the album flopped but that doesnt take away from everything else hes done this year imo

Also Collegrove 2 might be releasing here soon
Maybe itll hit 500k it should at least by mid next year

Some people do. But realistically with an album with funeral feats it should be gold in 6 months at the very least.

im doubtful of this. the album at best is at 423K right now, that's with me assuming it's doing the absolute best it can be. It's selling so low it's fallen off the Rolling Stone's 200 charts so it could be doing anywhere from 1 unit to 5K units this week - we don't know

I still don’t get this streaming era...streams and views get counted so poorly the artist get fucked. How does an artist have over 20 mill views/plays on an album and not be eligible for Gold smh

I think its fair. I think 1500 streams is generally one album unit. Everyone else seems to be fine with the rules really, only Waynes album this year is having issues moving units

Its alot easier to stream than buy an album so 1500 streams (paid) / 3750 streams (free) for 1 Unit seems about right

So selling a million albums isn’t shit then back in the day then...Because we didn’t have streaming services like we do now. 1 million to 20 million +. The numbers don’t add up right imo, I feel all artist get screwed these days not just Wayne...

It's just a different age. It feels weird to me too. But back in the day if you sold 1 million that means 1 million people bought your album and played it however many times they wanted. These days it's counting the number of plays each song gets rather than the number of people, so when artists get tens of millions of streams it isn't tens of millions of people listening to the album. Unless I'm mistaken.

And that's the difference. an album is what 9.99 a monthly streaming account is 9.99 - to stream any amount of music you want. Money wise - 20 Million streams is nothing. that's why 1500 streams is (generally) one album unit.
