  • What Wayne Can Actually Do To Get Back On Top - 10 Thoughtful Suggestions

While these ideas are major improvements if done by themselves, mixed together they can put him back on top.

    1. Clean up his hair, I think when he looked his best it added to his confidence.

    2. Make Mature, Grown Contemporary Music - J Cole / Kendrick / Drake (For the most part)

    3. Work with people who give a damn and aren't a flash in the pan, Someone who will be around a decade from now.
    4. Fix his Autotune settings, Stop using the high pitch voice

    5. Stop using "Youtube Type Beat" Beats. He hasn't had unique beats in years.

    6. Get people who actually know music to help pick his tracklist / His producers, not his friends.

    7. Quit trying to chase the Milli/6F7F on every album.

    8. Experiment and make things nobody else is, He used to be creative, Now he chases what others have created.

    9. Be willing to know he has iconic styles, and those can still be successful while the younger generation does their thing.

    10. Lay Off The Drugs, Take Time To Be Single, Focus On His Health And His Kids.

      1. Doesnt matter what he looks like

      2. Jcole music is boring as shit. he dont even sell that well. I dont want to see him copy kendrick or cole at all would rather get another album similar to C5

      3. He has been doin that lol

      4. Agree. (However i think using it for part of a verse is fine like mama mia)

      5. His beats are fine. He never really used unique beats tbh besides beats with samples: 6 foot 7 foot, a milli, LIAWO, dedicate

      6. Agree. (but i would rather have mack do it then himself lmao)

      7. He doesnt lol (Only time he did was really holy tbh)

      8. "Experiment... be creative... chases what others have created" Only time he really tried to copy new style was SOME of funeral a lot of it is was his own thing.

      9. He does his own thing and has his own "style" lol

      10. No comment

I was just thinking about the A Milli -esque song “format” the other day. Do you think he’s done this for every project since C3? I’ve tried to pin a song from IANAHB2 and C5 as that track but couldn’t really think of one that’s close enough. Mahogany definitely feels like the A Milli on Funeral for me tho. Even though the BPM is a little faster

funeral has sold 400K in 8 months (maybe)

            better mixing/autotune
better song structure - less just rapping front to back on a song
focus on good and catchy choruses
            better features

take time with each song to craft it, and make better picks when cutting album down after sessions - dont automatically throwaway older/earlier songs

            is my list

                  1. 10000000000000000% agree. he looks like shit and 99% of the general population see this & always bring it up on his social media.. not a good look (literally).

                  2. agree & disagree, i think he needs to figure out his current style more cuz i will always love the fun crazy wayne songs but at the same time it's nice to have some serious tracks thrown in (shoot me down, mr. carter, paradice, etc.)

                  3. YES. he NEEDS to work with some relevant fucking people both producers AND artists.

                  4. autotune settings are an absolute disaster not even gonna get into that rn & his high pitch voice needs to GO.

                  5. all his beats since FWA have been absolute dog shit it's like i'm listening to the same boring trap beat on every song. needs some bangers cuz that's when the hungry wayne comes out.

                  6. absolutely. it's like his 'friends' are trying to sabotage him with the tracks they pick for his albums.

                  7. agreed. he needs to stop "chasing" those types of songs & just fucking make one on par with them at this point.

                  8. literally couldnt agree more with this one. he has turned into the biggest follower music wise it is unbelievable. he used to make shit that stood out so much he had is own genre, now it's like "hey let's see if i can sound like lil uzi vert today".

                  9. style is huge, he completely lost his swagger.

                  10. most important thing on this list...but we all know that sadly it's most likely not going to happen.

A new team is what he needs.

Sign to Jay or something =/

Nah I’m good with straight rapping. And nothing wrong with song structures or beat selections. I can’t say don’t try to fit in with styles cuz the only time Wayne was really a trendsetter was 08-09 that’s when he was rap so there were no other real vibes to fit into. He was the hottest act and hottest style. In 05-07 he was just better than the rest. Plain and simple. He did what they did stylistically but mastered it and showed mastery in his work.

Honestly, he just underperformed on the album. Like he usually does compared to mixtapes or features. Know u know, trust no body, bing james, and some others just were some of his weaker deliveries. Great lyrically but not delivering all the way. Energy is lacking and controlled energy for songs like bing James. He just didn’t bring it. Honestly if funeral came out in 2015 and he delivered 2015 like verses I would’ve like it more. Sometimes these days his energy isn’t there so verses fall flat. But I like the concept of the albums. If he just delivered tighter verses it would’ve been better.

C5 gives me the most issues tho. Cuz that was his time to shine and hone in on the moment on each and every track and he really only gave us 1/2 of genuine lil Wayne great music. That was his platform and he didn’t really capitalize. Every song should’ve been great.

Like looking back by itself is a cool album. But It didn’t hone in on the moment. And he could’ve went harder. He can do whatever he wants on carters. He has the stage and all ears are on him just due to the resume. C5 did not meet my expectations at first listen. It wasn’t as amazing as awaited. But funeral I didn’t have much expectations so looking back it’s a cool album.

But then he might not be able to work with his own producers.
