  • Do You Respect Wayne Outside of Music? *Try to ignore music completey*

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts here, Knowing what we know he is facing.

outside of music in terms of social life he's pretty private about it so can't comment on that. but given we know how he moves (guns/drugs on PJs) its pretty stupid. Especially since he a convicted felon, but i mean hey wanna play stupid games he gonna win stupid prizes.

i dont really care enough to 'respect' wayne outside of his music either, i go to him to listen to music, nothing outside of it, everything else is just noise for the most part to me except 'big' stuff like this case

Wayne is my favorite rapper and I therefore do care about him outside of the music, especially because I've grown up listening to him.

        He entertains me with music.
I pay him for the music.
        Fair trade.

Nothing more to it than that really.

        I hate them thirsty bitches
        Cut them off like circumcision

I like this outlook most in all honesty. The problem really is people have impacts when they do have a platform and while it is because of music, the things outside of it are also in that microscope too. Like the drugs, and other things. Like people say he caused the syrup movement (that's a fair point for people doing doing it now)

            This...

I truly idolized him as kid and grew up to his music through my ups and downs. I literally have so many memories tied to his music. I felt really bad for him after going through all the Lawsuit shit with Cash Money I was so happy he was free and released C5. Lately with his terrible management, Trump support, drug use, gun case it’s been difficult as a fan. I just think he needs to get his head straight, get clean then start taking his career more seriously as well as trying to understand and be aware of the world around him.

I feel this too man, Like if I was picking how to build my life day 1, I'd go elsewhere for role models / life paths. It's wild if you really think about it. He seems to care about his legacy, but if you do remove the music aspect, or things he does related/connected to music there's not a lot of impact to talk about. Like in the NFL they have this "Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award" for doing good deeds that impact communities locally/distant and while your average non rap fan will say "Lil Baby isn't making music" He actually does a lot of charitable things. Wayne did some good things, but really that was during the height of his first prime. He doesn't do a lot anymore for people.

Same boat for me, Will say that I was here through the "2012-2013" era where it was a rough time to be a Wayne fan at times. He came back strong in 2014-2016 but NC2-NOW has been so... Un-Waynelike. Including Wayne being more of the bad guy. He gets praise and celebrated for what he's done previously and he plays into it at times when he does interviews / ESPN/FS1

(This isn't a lecture about drug use and not aimed at anyone personally)

If you look back and watch "Tha Carter Doc" for example - you'll see the scene with the Vitamin Water bottle. "Ain't no damn Vitamin Water" (filled with syrup) Younger me was 14 or so at the time. I thought the cup shit was cool. I thought the lean was just a part of him but it wasn't harmful (yeah at 14 I knew drugs were bad like coke/H) But Lean.... it was painted as this exclusive club and a success potion by Wayne himself. Now we have an epidemic of people using that shit. He was referencing shrooms and percs on D4. Like people questioned it at the time (still on probation at that time too) It's just dumb shit like that, and I never tried any of that shit, but some people are dumb enough to because their favorite rapper said it's great.

People are very impressionable, and while it's easy to say "they're dumb" it's not out of stupidity for some, for some it's that they believe the person in front of them and see them doing great with that. They want that shit too.

Absolutely a line that's famous, especially how he said it. But man, if we're being honest that's not cool lmao. Like nobody wants to be the reason person x does some shit. Unless it's positive or healthy. I think the average person doesn't want to suffer or hurt, and I do question that line being significantly honest or is it part of the persona. I hope the persona as an adult.
