When a person registers an account, they have to wait 7 days until they can access the Download Section.

I think they should wait 7 days (Or whatever set amount of days) to post in general...That would stop other spamming as well (The video spam shit/those 50 cent dick riders that spammed that one night lol)

maybe reduce that to 3

Who would want to sign up for a forum where they can't actually post when they sign-up. Maybe the not being able to view the download section until a set amount of days have passed would be good. And to the original idea, woah really? A thread just for spammers? That defeats the point of having to get 10 posts.

Who would want to sign up for a forum where they can't actually post when they sign-up. Maybe the not being able to view the download section until a set amount of days have passed would be good. a password hmmmm how would you tell people who actually have been there longer pm maybe and inevitably the password will get out if there is only one but if you change passwords regualary it will complicated then there will be threads "WTF My password dont WorK"

spam is basically entering a topic just say the dio 7 topic and saying 'Omg cant wait till it comes out' or just saying nonsense like the bloke who says southside

having new people wait 1 week to view the downloads section isnt a bad idea but then they may not even post @ all and contribute to the forums

The only reason they were posting to begin with was because they need 10, they werent gonna contribute anyway so atleast this way ur getting rid of spam.

I say that they can view the download section and such, but instead of having a 10 post count and what not, you have a tag that lets the poster of the download link hide it for people with x amount of posts, or you need x amount of posts, depending on the extremity of the file.

If we didn't then people will abuse the system, they'll register just for the downloads and won't bother even posting let alone being part of the community. This system ensures that even if they came here for the downloads they still contribute to the site, and might even stay longer after seeing the community better.

Edit: How about for those that don't want to post and wanna download straight away. Pay a fee of say...$10 (Unlimited DL)

Keep the 10 post requirement and unknowingly to new members make it so during their first week posts have to be accepted, anything bullshit gets deleted, members with valid input don't see it and then all Mods have total control over which people are gonna just spam it up for downloads and which aren't
