I'm assuming the producers got the run around when trying to contact anyone with power at Young Money/Cash Money. Once they did, they were probably like "we gotta talk to our lawyers/financial advisers/accountants, man, we'll get back to you." bringing it up to the media was probably a last resort (along with the lawsuit) to say "WTF! Where's my money?". Which is why it took 2 years. It also tarnishes the image of YM/CM as a reliable label when it comes to money management. I'm sure these produces were calling for the check by December 2008 at the LATEST.

That's exactly why, it's not that hard to understand, people.
