Gates Mixed Plate had a few good songs, but I prefer Bad Season over that. But Everready >>> Bad Season.

And about his fans, they didn't want him on any mainstream music because he's such a unique artist that they think he's going to lose what they love about him. If you listen to his old albums up to the current, you can tell his shifting into that more 'known' stream.

i think i would define that as (not everyone's definition is the same, don't hate me) being more of a stan.

if wayne were to ask me what i thought about rebirth (hypothetically),
i would be honest & tell him although i respect him stepping out of the box,
& it's great to experiment,
but i'm a fan of what made him who he is. Hip Hop.

a 'fan' doesn't have to be supportive of everything the artist does.
chris brown beat rihanna's ass,
do you think all of CB's fans were like, "hell yeah, finally slapped that bitch."

in my mind, a true fan has a certain interpretation of the artist, & they love that, being why they became a fan.
for someone to try and change their fanbase is almost like a spit in the face.
especially when you've got an underground legend, who has NEVER needed publicity or promotion, jumping on a track with the most heralded emcee of all time.

but i do see where' you're coming from.

what kind of beat will be used, & what producer,
but most importantly;
how will it affect wayne?

this is a great conversation... its basically the two most animal-ish, radical, out-there, emcee's, one's major, one's independent. But it's fuel for both, to ignite, and come up with some lyrical crack classic, something that is rarely done.

i guess Em would fit into that category, just a different "out-there" than wayne, if that makes sense.

all this is based on opinion, please dont attack me. i will not speak on tech like i know what i'm talkin about, cuz i'm not a long-time listener, so as a long, long-time wayne fan, and what little i've heard from tech, i have nothing but anticipation in 'seeing' what happens on these tracks.
