David Banner reveals that he and Lil Wayne will once again link up for a track off "Tha Carter IV."
The Boombox recently caught up with rapper and producer David Banner about his recent commercial and film work. During the interview, the Mississippi emcee revealed that he will be contributing a beat to frequent collaborator Lil Wayne's upcoming album Tha Carter IV.
Banner explained he feels blessed to be working with Wayne and his Young Money crew once again. He even added that Wayne's lyrical skill continually inspires him to be a better rapper.
"[Lil] Wayne has given me an opportunity to work on every Young Money release besides Drake and Nicki Minaj - because, of course, that's their decision - but we worked together on Tha Carter III and I've always been a part of what Young Money is doing," he explained. "To be a part of that movement is almost like dipping into a fountain of youth, or starting over again. To see their success, to be a part of it, for Wayne to want me to be a part of it, and to watch him come from his situation and turn it into something new, is amazing. He's hungry and that puts a battery in my back as far as being a lyricist. I think people are really going to be satisfied with what he's doing this time around."
This isn't the first time Banner and Wayne have worked together. Banner laced Weezy with the beat to "La La" for Tha Carter III, and Wayne provided verses for Banner's "9mm" and "Shawty Say" off his 2008 album The Greatest Story Ever Told
As DX reported on Tuesday, David Banner revealed that his next album MTA 3: The Trinity Movement is partly inspired by the music of Public Enemy.
