Congratulations to Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks. Last night the new Dallas champs shocked the world when they secured their first Larry O'Brien trophy beating the Miami Heat 105-95. The journey to their first championship has been a long one for NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, point guard Jason Kidd and guard Jason Terry. To pour a little salt in the wound, members of the Mavericks including owner Mark Cuban took to Club Liv to further the celebration.
"I really still can't believe it," Dirk Nowitzki told ESPN following the win. "We worked so hard and so long for it. The team has had an unbelievable ride."
Dirk, along with Cuban and other Mavs players partied it up on South Beach with Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Lil Twist, Slim Thug and Birdman. The Cash Money CEO is out a whopping $2 million dollars after he placed a bold bet against the Mav, putting his money on the Big Three. Superstar player LeBron James looks to have one long summer ahead of him after his team failed to beat the Mavericks putting a close to a highly controversial year for the Akron native.
“Sometimes you got it, sometimes you don’t,” said James. “The Greater Man upstairs know [sic] when it's my time. Right now isn't the time."
The Mavs' stunning win was the talk of the Hip-Hop community.
"This is bitter sweet cause I like the heat too but I had to rep for Texas" Slim Thug tweetedfrom Club Liv. "I wonder did birdman lose that 2 mill."
"Mavs gonna win! Wow! #Texas" Texas native Bun B added in.
Although the Heat didn't walk away with the title, fellow Dade County resident DJ Khaled saluted the Miami ball club.
"Big up miami heat amazing team miami dade county 305 ! Every great team has a great story!" DJ Khaled tweeted.
