That's exactly how I reacted. Most rappers mention violence in their songs so why is Wayne the only one to blame? Does it mean others don't have any impact on the listeners?

Also, the author claims Wayne's music can have bad influence on children but come on, if you let a young kid listen to gangsta rap it's your problem. Eminem addressed this issue on Marshall Mathers LP claiming it's the parents' responsibility, not the artist's and I couldn't agree more.

As a grown up person, I'm not gonna grab a gun and shoot around after listening to a rap track lol. And I love Steady Mobbin'!

Lil wayne's lyrics have impacts on the young listeners, a bad impact, but lil wayne is not to blame, it's the parents.

I dont think they have any impact. My sister is 13 and an avid Wayne listener.....no effect on her. Very well behaved, all A student, etc.

I used to listen to 2Pac and Wu-Tang Clan when I was this age and I was well-behaved as well. Parents have the role in showing the kid that he/she shouldn't immitate the lyrics, it's just entertainment and shouldn't be taken too far. That's exactly wham Em was saying. If a person comes from a "disfunctional" background they can go crazy over any type of music. At least that's my opinion based on the way me & my friends reacted to music. Apparently this whole dr has no idea about such issues. If he got my iPod he'd prolly think I'm a gangsta or something LOL.

It'd actually be interesting to hear Weezy's reaction to it.

Smh at y'all, he wasn't only bashing Wayne. That dude just heard Waynes lyrics and that was the final straw. It could have been Gucci fir all we know. The article raised several important but well know points.
The most important one being tre influence on children, not saying that the kids will become murderers but growing hearing those type if lyrics consistently it could affect how the child treats women.

The dude is no different to many others, smh at y'all really.

People should realize rap is not music for children, if you let your kids listen to it give them good examples so that they'd immitate your behavior and not the rappers' lyrics. If you fail to have impact on your kids, they'll find other role models, not neccessarily good. Simple as that.
