Okay first of all there are ALOT of lil wayne "followers" who listen to his shit that he puts out on features and radio and even sometimes mixtapes since his mixtapes have become arguably the most popular among hip hop artists; now to the thing you didnt mention, most of these followers will be hitting up mediafire or hulkshare and downloading this shit illegally and his REAL fan base whose been buying his albums since his early days are ones more likely to buy an album, its just how sales are now because of the internet so to say hes definitely going to do big numbers is a bit extreme. relax
