yeah sth 60k
IDK rap in Europe is almost not existing well it is existing but not really selling ...
c3 sold decent in europe, because lollipop was such a smash hit...but for example here in germany not one single was on the top100 from c4
also c4 charted at #14 in germany
lulwut?
Not to bring Eminem into the picture (again) but he's just a prime exaple for so much.
Recovery sold more than C4 in it's first week world wide (1.098.000) and recovery had first week U.S. sales of 741,000 which means he sold 375,000 outside the U.S. rap is massive worldwide.
Same for Game and R.E.D album (he tours the fuck outta Europe and look at his WW sales)
(1) 47,017 copies in Canada
(2) 68,415 copies sold in Europe
(3) 42,982 copies in AUstralia
(4) 14,756 copies in Asia
The target market is there, and MUCH bigger than the U.S.
The only Lil Wayne songs I have ever heard on Swedish radio / seen high up on the Swedish Itunes Chart are Down and Hit the Lights, both with Jay Sean. And Bedrock once, I think. I've never even heard Lollipop on radio here... nothing from C4.

Wayne so needs to go on World Tours. He's clearly got the US down. They need to do it man.

I think he over tours America. Like he tours the U.S. far too much, if he did that worldwide he'd not only gain a bigger fan base, but more people worldwide would support him. Not to mention you can't deny it'd be a better experience to travel the world with all sorts of different crowds and vibes, it may inspire him .
Some of you EU guys were lucky to get C4 at the same time as the US, in Poland it was available on 2.09 in one store while some others have it for order but you have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery. And we only have standard edition here, I've only seen 2 or 3 shops selling the deluxe but it's US import so it may take up to a month till it's delivered. And there is no promo at all.
On the other hand, C4 has already outsold WTT and RED Album in the most popular store and when I checked today it was sold out already and reached #19 on the store's top selling music chart.
I think many europeans ans other non U.S. people bough theire copies from the U.S. I ordered my 3 Copies from amazon.com so some copies will count so U.S. sales even when there go to europe etc.
And yeah hip hop isnt big in europe and when most hip hop listeners are buying national hip hop or dowloading illegal...
And no promo only saw 6foot 7 foot one time butnonly on a hip hop music channel, so only pop is big here .

We were in fact forced to order from the US if we wanted the deluxe. I got mine from a US eBay store so it also counts as US sales.

Yeah but you're a very small minority of "hardcore" fans outside the U.S. who did that, the majority of average fans would'nt have done that because realisitcly that's too much trouble when they know they can just download it than waiting a month + insane shipping costs.

Yeah man. I hope during the next two years or so Wayne starts touring the world. If I remember right Tez said in some interview they wanted to do that some time after C4 dropped.

Yes, it's a huge problem in my country, not only connected with rap but any music genre. People claim to be fans of some singers/bands but don't buy any CDs at all because they can download them for free. They don't support their "favorite" artists at all and then they're dissappointed when the artists don't come to make shows here. How can they know they have fans if these "fans" don't support them in any way?
Another thing is that we don't even have iTunes store and can't use those of other countires, even though I have a credit card and paypal account I'm not able to buy mp3s there.
But you're right about touring - if Weezy visited some EU countries he'd gain new fans and they might buy his albums, especially that some of them are available in cheaper versions without booklets. Don't know if you have it in other countires - the album only has front & back artwork and costs about 50% less. Or it's packaged in a kind of digipak instead of jewel case. I know these editions sell quite well due to thier prices.
