i'm not going to get into an argument with you over your religion. that would be messed up. here's a quote for you to ponder on though...

"there is a reason why one man is born black and with other disadvantages, while another is born white with great advantages. The reason is that we once had an estate before we came here, and were obedient; more or less, to the laws that were given us there. Those who were faithful in all things there received greater blessings here, and those who were not faithful received less" (Doctrines of Salvation 1:61)

-written by Tenth LDS President Joseph Fielding Smith (found on a Mormon website)

to me that sounds like dark skin along with inability of farm to grow were both curses (look at the first sentence). i would dare say a large population of american christians are racist. look at many of the churches' support of slavery and hinderance of the equal rights movement (BTW im also christian, but will criticize the church where criticism is due)

wow you havent been paying attention in history class. look at capitalism unregulated: monopolies driving up prices, businesses working 10 year olds 12 hours a day, e. coli running rampant in food production industries, snake oil being sold as the "cure" for just about everything.

government plays a huge roll in making capitalism work. its pretty evident that trickle down economics doesnt work and that unregulated businesses would destroy middle class society for increased revenue.

the bailouts were Bush's idea, Obama went along with them to try and be bipartisan and was then criticized. both the wars in the middle east were Bush's idea. Obama continued them out of necessity, and was then criticized for it. sounds like much of Obama's spending is actually a continuation of Bush's failing ecnonomic policies in Obama's attempt to please Conservatives. (heres a hint Obama, do your own thing, they won't be happy with anything you do either way)

Racial issues will always exist once ignorance exist.....as human being we judge, that is what we inherited from our parents and their parents parents.....By doing so we objectify everything as what the natural eyes sees is fact and overlook the history, the past, and the present situation..Slavery was real, that part of history is indelibly printed on America's mind's eye....its like wearing shades....you may not see the brightness of the sun but its evident its still there....Obama gonna be alright though because contrary to opinion by the minority he has done a good job to alot of individuals..
Mississippi x California x North Carolina

ok now i see more where youre coming from. in my opinion, they arent being OVER regulated though. theyre going overseas where businesses are UNDER regulated. where they can pay people sweat shop salaries

companies like GE payed zero taxes last year because of our government's attempt to keep businesses in america. that doesnt sound like over regulation to me. just sounds like businesses want all the perks and protections of selling their goods and services in the US but none of the expenses. so, they go overseas and still expect the benefits of being an american business

Where the hell have you been for the last 10 years?
We are still in a war because of Bush. I don't like Obama, but at least he's beginning to pull troops out from overseas.

Really wasn't needed. Not even officially a war, just a 10 year battle.
A 10 year battle which in the Bush era cost America around 11.5 trillion dollars.

holyhotdogs, i'm not going to argue with you either...kind of am in a way....but, mormon teachings have changed over time. plural marriage being one. the reason mormons even did that was because most of the men went on missions and their wifes needed support from them and the family. so, those who stayed married them because women couldn't work. they never had sex with anyone but their 1st wife. now mormons only marry one person, are told to at least. the reason for me telling you that is for you to see

---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:17 PM ----------

that that has been changed as well.

im glad that has changed. and im glad that the mormon church, from what you tell me, has changed its view on people of color as well. i guess the mormon church i was referring to is now more a fringe group today then (the ones you see on the news that still allow polygamy, and cast out male children that are viewed as "competition")

i supported searching for osama bin laden. i did not support going to war in afghanistan without the support of congress. and i did not support the war in iraq (WMDs? where?) because it had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks
