  • Lil Wayne To Tour In South Africa

He’s hip-hop’s biggest name, its deadliest lyricist and the genre’s most flourishing touring act; he’s Lil Wayne and he’s coming to South Africa.

Lil Wayne is an in demand performer with fan bases across the globe and in December he’s bringing his worldwide “I Am Still Music Tour” to South Africa.

This Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum artist will perform in Cape Town on 7 December at the Bellville Velodrome, followed by a performance at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on 9 December and ending in Durban on 11 December 2011. Tickets on sale now at Computicket. Durban venue to be announced soon, watch the press for details.

Visiting our shores for the first time, this is a major coup for the South African live music scene and for local promoters Canoc Productions who recently brought Trey Songz to this country. Canoc’s Glen Netshipise says, “Few will argue with him being the best rapper alive; no rapper has made more hits in modern time than Lil Wayne and his live performances are to die for. It is our ultimate pleasure to present you Lil Wayne.”

This year alone, Lil Wayne was named one of Forbes Magazine’s top earning rap stars, Rolling Stone Magazine’s “Hip-Hop Kings,” and he recently performed on MTV Network’s coveted and legendary “Unplugged” series. Lil Wayne holds the record for the most Top 100 Hits by a Rap Artist with 64 hits between 1999 and 2010.

Don’t miss the world’s greatest hip-hop star for just one performance each in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban later this year. Lil Wayne, no-one does it better. “Don’t drop this one, it’s hot!”
