    GRAMMY Awards Voting Process

The process begins with members and record companies submitting entries, which are then screened for eligibility and category placement. The Academy's voting members, all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording, then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines the GRAMMY winners.
    Submission

Recording Academy members and record companies enter recordings and music videos released during the eligibility year which they consider worthy of recognition in the GRAMMY Awards process.
    Screening

Reviewing sessions by more than 150 experts in various fields are held to ensure that entered recordings meet specific qualifications and have been placed in appropriate fields such as Rock, R&B, Jazz, Country, Gospel, New Age, Rap, Classical and Latin, among others. The purpose of screenings is not to make artistic or technical judgments about the recordings, but rather to make sure that each entry is eligible and placed in its proper category.
    Nominating

First-round ballots are sent to voting members in good dues standing. To help ensure the quality of the voting, members are directed to vote only in their areas of expertise; they may vote in up to 20 categories in the genre fields plus the four categories of the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.) Ballots are tabulated by the independent accounting firm of Deloitte.
    Special Nominating Committees

In craft and other specialized categories, final nominations are determined by national nomination review committees comprised of voting members from all of The Academy's Chapter cities.
    Final Voting

Final-round ballots are sent to voting members in good dues standing. The finalists determined by the special nominating committees are also included in this ballot. In this final round, Recording Academy members may vote in up to 20 categories in the genre fields plus the four categories of the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.) Ballots again are tabulated by the independent accounting firm of Deloitte.
    Results

Results of members' voting are not known until the GRAMMY Awards presentation ceremony when names of the winners are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes. GRAMMY Award winners are revealed during the GRAMMY Awards telecast.

Who voted on this? The Board of Trustees for The Recording Academy. What sets the GRAMMY Awards apart from other music awards is that it is a peer-recognized award — music makers recognizing and acknowledging other music makers for their respective work in a given year. Likewise, The Academy is governed by music people: our A&N Committee and Board of Trustees are comprised of musicians, engineers, producers, songwriters, and other music industry professionals from around the country.

On a serious note though, why do you guys even think C4 won't win? C3 won Best Rap album of 2009 and look who it was up against. I mean, NAS WAS IN IT.
And this shows just how supportive you guys really are...

do you even listen to rap? do you even listen to lil wayne? by raps standards' that was a TERRIBLE album, and by lil waynes it was also horrendous. he sounded so lazy in it. compare c4 back to back with c3 - huge difference. we heard 5 songs out of the 15, 2 of them he wasnt even on. the ones we hadn't heard were so lackluster, i got more enjoyment out of sorry 4 the wait. long story short it should not have took wayne that long to drop that mediocre CD

C4 was average, it doesn't deserve a grammy IMO.
I'm not only a Wayne fan, I'm a fan of Hip Hop.

It wasn't a terrible or horrendous album. I don't think it should win against MBDTF or WTT, but yaw muhfuckas takin' shit overboard.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

You must be the dumbest fan ever. First of all, we have 21 SONGS IN TOTAL for C4, so you still have 16 unheard songs if not counting the singles. And don't even get me started on the whole "Wayne ain't on Interlude/Outro" thing. I swear to God, you people never understand the concept of splitting 1 huge song into 3 parts.
And yes, I do listen to rap. All kinds. I'm just saying, C4 has as much chance of winning as MBDTF or WTT. If you guys think Wayne is gonna do another C4-type album if he wins a Grammy, then you're just dumb. Wayne won a Grammy for C3, and he did Rebirth, not another C3.

It has a better chance of winning only because of popularity. That's what the Grammy's and other awards are based off of now. There was some award 2-3 weeks ago that I heard Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday won over WTT, for God sakes.

And you think Kanye doesn't have that kind of popularity? MBDTF had All of the Lights with Rihanna (aka the ultimate pop takeover ), and as far as I know, Niggas in Paris had quite a lot of airplay recently.
