  • Mike Will producer to work with Wayne

In this age of cheap technology and infinite social media, it seems like every other kid on Twitter is making beats on Garageband with dreams on being the next Kanye West. But Mike Will isn't every other kid on your block. The up-and-coming producer, who uses his signature moniker "Mike Will Made It" at the start of songs to identify his production, has been one of hip hop's most exciting new talents over the past year or so. Will's highlights include Meek Mill and Rick Ross' "Tupac Back," 2 Chainz' "Got One" and several contributions to Future's debut album, Pluto. At just 22, the young beatsmith has a bright future ahead of him. He recently sat down with BET.com to discuss just some of his agenda for 2012 and beyond.

Perhaps the boldest of the boldface names that Mike Will is adding to his discography is Kanye West himself. The pair have recently been working in the studio together, but Mike played coy about the specifics. "Just stay tuned," he told BET.com. "Me and Kanye working, man, we’re just vibing. I’m learning a lot from the big homie. We’re just feeling each other out."

But Mike wasn't at all shy when it came to talking about Kanye's opinion of him — he says that Yeezy sees him as hip hop's next big beatmaking talent. "Kanye let me know that every producer has his time," Mike said. "There’s a different time in the music industry where different producers come through with the crazy sounds and the crazy 808s and that's the new sound, and he feel’s like right now I’m that guy."

But Mike wasn't sure if he would follow in the same footsteps as Hit-Boy, the producer behind "N---s in Paris" who signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music imprint. "I don’t know, man," Mike said of such a deal. "I’m building my company right now, Ear Drummers Entertainment. Right now I’ve got real dope producers signed to me, and I’m trying to build them up to being as big as a monster as I am. We already joined forces with Ye, so any other business that comes from that would definitely be dope."

And Mike certainly has his sights set high for future collaborators, naming Cash Money as one of his top targets. "Hell yeah f----g right, I’m f---ing with Cash Money," Mike said. "Me and Drake be on text, texting each other back and forth all day. I’m definitely going to work with Drake and [Lil] Wayne, y'all just stay tuned. As soon as Mystikal get out, man, get at me — he got the most swag for real."

In the meantime, you can check out Mike Will on 2 Chainz's "No Lie," featuring Drake, the soon-to-be-ubiquitous lead single from his highly anticipated album Based on a T.R.U. Story.
