  • Lil Wayne's Dedication Series comes in at #3 on the 15 greatest mixtape series

The series that defined “The Mixtape Weezy.” Dedication 1 & 2 were mind-blowing precursors to Lil Wayne becoming the biggest star in hip-hop. The legendary series undoubtedly took a dip with the mediocre D3 and despite solid content, D4 hasn’t carried the same magnitude as its predecessors, arriving in a mixtape era where the bar has been raised so much that mixtapes are expected to be albums. Regardless, Dedication stands as one of Wayne’s greatest achievements, giving him a basis behind his claim as “The Best Rapper Alive.”

I'm glad people are actually giving D4 props for bein solid and not just bashin it.

Though I expected to see Da Drought series on there if only for DD3. It damn sure deserves recognition.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

He deserves this place imo. If the serie was Dedication 2, Da Drought 3 and No Ceilings he would win.

No disrespect to Banks and Budden but like for real how they get better rating than Wayne? Is that purely because there's ore mixtapes in the series of there's? It should be based off content and not numbers. I know they got their little story about lyrics etc. under each series but let's be for real if Wayne had like Dedication 7 all other rappers wouldn't come close.

Ummm....Mood Muzik 2 is classic, niggas. Don't be hatin' on Budden. He ain't made one bad mixtape in that series. He ain't made a bad mixtape, period. While Wayne has made a few bad ones. D3 for one. Goddamn D3 sucks. I only listen to Stuntin' and Dick Pleaser (Song had to be recorded around The D2 Era with that delivery and voice. Sick shit.)

I just realized that it wasn't recordin' in '06 because of the delivery on that second verse though. He was just "CLEARLY" high and po'd the fuck up for that time period on "Dick Pleaser". Around '09 was when his voice got high-pitched. "I'm Goin' In" marked the official genesis of that Weezy "LOUDER" persona era.
