  • Emmitt Till Estate On Lil Wayne Lyric

Some things are just down right disrespectful. Over the weekend, Future released the remix to “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne. Weezy insolently rhymed “Beat that pussy up like Emmitt Till.”

In 1955, Emmitt Till was mutilated and murdered for allegedly whistling at a White woman. He was 14 years old. His death was a catalyst in the Civil Rights movement following his open casket funeral.

From Kanye West to Remy Ma, Till’s name has been used as punchline to describe the severity of an injury. Reps for the Till Estate recently spoke on the lyric and needless to say, were appalled by the line.

I don't know what to say or think, I'm white, so I shouldn't really have an opinion in this matter.
    Still a good punchline tho

i fuckin knew someone would be bothered by that...

why the fuck everyone always go after Lil Wayne for "lyrics disrespecting women, killing etc..." EVERYONE DOES IT...Wayne always the scapegoat smh

I hate when people say that these music artists affect what people do...if you take these artists seriously, youre stupid as fuck.Simple as that. Music is entertainment, not a fuckin guide to how to live your life.

Yeah no surprise that some people would take offense to it, but it is just a punchline at the end of the day.

Because Wayne has the stupidest lines

I understand why people would be offended by it after looking him up

Of all the words/names that relates to "beating" he used Emmit Till..
There are tons of words that could fit in better in that context

But anyway the song is straight fire so I aint trippin
