  • Tyga puts Lil Wayne and Baby in the hot seat.

Can't post the interview off my phone.

Young Money's Tyga recently talked about his relationship with Cash Money/Young Money and admitted aside from a signing bonus, he has never received a check from the music empire.

Tyga broke the news in an interview Monday (April 15) with New York radio station Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club."
"I never got a check from Young Money/Cash Money," Tyga said in an interview. "But by me saying that, I've always treated my career like independent and everything that I got is because of myself, my own endorsements, me touring, myself. I think I got a signing bonus when I first signed but that was it." ("The Breakfast Club")
Despite the shocking news, he did admit Cash Money/Young Money has provided money for things like music videos.
"At a certain time, you get your money but at the same time, they pay for your videos and all that other stuff. But I never really was dependent on the label like that," Tyga added. "I felt if I wanted to be independent, I could do that because it would be no difference. I would still tour, put out albums and still sell out shows." ("The Breakfast Club")
Last year, former Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh admitted his issues with the label stemmed over financial reasons.
"We still have money issues. We will always have them, as long as Cash Money is selling anything that has Mannie Fresh on it. 'Til this day, I'm like, "Dude, what's going on? Where are the statements for this?" There's always some kind of complication, that's all I can say," Fresh said in an interview. "Everybody has to get paid. It would be something large if Cash Money did a tour with the first generation of artists, but with everything that's happened, we need money upfront and on top of that we all need our own attorneys. You don't get my money and pay me-I get my money directly." (Billboard)
Tyga reportedly signed to the growing Young Money family back in 2007.
Michael Stevenson, better known by his stage name Tyga, is a rapper from the West Coast who signed to Young Money Ent in 2007. Tyga met Lil Wayne through his close-friend at the time, Travis McCoy, who you may know from Gym Class Heroes. Tygaman released his debut album in 2008 called No Introduction, which was followed by various mixtapes during his time at Young Mula that have all been received well, thus reflecting the name of one of his tapes.

Wow. I wouldn't be surprised if Nicki and Drake are the only ones getting paid for anything.

well you don't get in the top 5 richest rappers without hogging all your labels money.

I'm sure Diddy's holding onto some of French and MGK's cash for "safe keeping".

But I bet he's never had to pay Wayne that 100k (or whatever he charges now) for a verse.

                  It works both ways

                      lmao!

but damn, didn't think they still weren't paying their artists
and fuck, dont pay him at all?!
                      it's probably Tyga's fault though
he made them make a shit load of CDs that never sold cause he didnt clear that MLK sample for his intro on the last album
didnt think Cash Money was that bad on not paying a dime

wonder if Drake and Nicki got some money for them platinum albums?
Birdman probably juss gave them a buck

LOL @ Birdman, I've seen so many interviews where he says when he gets paid the first thing he does is split it with the team. Like when he said he signed a $100 million dollar check fist thing he did was cut the dough with the fam.
Syrup, percocet, and an eighth a day will leave you broke, depressed, and emotionally vacant
                        Despite how Lil' Wayne lives
It's not conducive to being creative
And I know cause he's my favorite
And I know cause I was off that same mix
Rationalize the shit that I'd try after I listen to "Dedication"
                        But he's an alien
                        I'd sip that shit
