Lil Wayne is excited to hit the road, even if there has been a little shake-up on his upcoming America's Most Wanted Tour. Weezy was originally slated to tour with T.I., French Montana and Future, but now the Astronaut Kid is being replaced by 2 Chainz.
"I haven't been on the road in a minute, so I'm ready to get back out there and I'm going out there with Future and 'em, and they're going to obviously take over; I'm just playing the back field," Weezy told us on May 3, just days before T.I., speaking with DJ Scream on his Sirius XM satellite radio show, confirmed that Future was out.
"It was Future, something happened and Future pulled — he disassociated himself from the tour for whatever reason, and it's still love — ain't no problem with that. Now Chainz on there," Tip said.
Whatever the lineup, Weezy promises a live show. He says he will be backed by a full band and is ready to perform all of his hits. "I'm from New Orleans, the home of performers, so I'ma do what I'm supposed to do," he said.
The tour kicks off on July 9 at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Birmingham, Alabama.
On Wednesday, Wayne, along with Birdman, appeared on a special episode of "RapFix Live" filmed on location in Miami. During the show, Weezy updated us on upcoming projects, confirming that he is planning to release Like Father, Like Son 2, Devol and a new Big Tymers LP with Birdman and Drake, but not original BT member Mannie Fresh. The superstar rapper also spoke about his ongoing battle with epilepsy, while Baby touched on Cash Money's relationship with Miami rap veteran Trick Daddy.
