Record label owners Lil Wayne and Bryan 'Birdman' Williams are facing a breach of contract lawsuit from teen rap group W3 The Future, amid allegations the youngsters were axed from their roster for no good reason.
The trio signed a joint deal between Wayne's Young Money Entertainment and Williams' Cash Money Records a year ago, when the rappers were reportedly promised $600,000 as an advance to cover the costs of recording their debut album.
Bosses at W3 The Future's Grassroots Production company, who have filed the suit on the band's behalf, claim label chiefs only covered the initial recording fees, but the balance of the $600,000 was not paid, even though the aspiring stars turned in their album on time.
According to the legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, a label representative simply told them, "Cash Money is not moving forward with this project."
Lil Wayne and Williams have yet to respond to the accusations.
