He's extremely misunderstood. He's a really smart guy. The media used him as a scapegoat for political reasons regarding the cost of pharmaceuticals in the United States.

He donated 2 million dollars to Wu-Tang. Did you? Also, Martin purchased a drug a large pharma company no longer had interest in manufacturing because it was seen by executives as unprofitable. Now if you knew that, you may think that he was saving lives by purchasing the drug and raising the price. You know how much is costs to start a drug company? 100 million dollars. How does a drug that serves 2,000 patients, like the one Martin purchased, cover all the costs of running a drug company? You have to pay for research & development, manufacturing, distribution, salaries, rent, etc. The price had to go up. Besides, no one actually forked over the money the pill costs. Insurance companies cover that my friend. No insurance then it's yours for free.

The real issue with the drug business is the large conglomerates raising prices on drugs higher than the rate of inflation each year. Drugs that serve large swaths of patients. The drug Martin purchased factually has no impact on drug pricing as a whole.

Not so sure about your calculation since the drug he bought had already been developed and thats the most expensive part.
