Not tryna sound like that guy but lowkey it gets deep! They don’t want you to own your masters. They killed artist like Michael Jackson etc and bough their masters after. For all we know they threatened his life along with his kids lives if he didn’t sell his masters they caught him at a vulnerable moment. Obviously selling your masters is dumb but never forget the higher ups don’t want you to own your masters, the music industry is very demonic and unfortunately for Wayne he has been a part of it since he was a child =(

I know Sony bought back MJs share of their company for like 750million but it included ownership of a good bit of the Beatles catalog and many others (like 4500 songs). U never rly hear of artists selling their masters catalog, only artists begging for it back when they signed their rights away in their contracts

She never owned her masters and iirc they bought the entire recording label who owned her mastersJust went and checked and Variety is reporting that Taylor’s first 6 albums were estimated worth like 150million. So I think Wayne got a gr8 deal with selling his masters
