Re: you guys think weezys got 2pac/biggie/marley status yet?

That's not fair to compare dead people to people who are alive.

Dead people can't keep putting out music, thus, they cannot be compared because they no longer have room to grow as far as music.

On-Topic: Lil' Wayne better than Tupac/Biggie/Marley. Yeah, it's official you guys on this board are die-hard Wayne fans. Don't get me wrong I listen to Lil' Wayne all day and everyday but will I ever think that Wayne will be better than Tupac? Never. Why ? Simply because Tupac never tried to be an icon, he never tried to be more than what he was, he never tried to stick out, he never wanted to differentiate himself from anyone. He was simply him and he didn't need to make songs to show that he was him. He made his music and did what he did. Now you may say that Wayne does the same thing but I feel Wayne tries way to hard to be like Tupac and noone EVER notices it. I mean Lil' Wayne use to be the quiet boy of Cash Money, he was never a stand out type of guy . You could see it in the old videos . Pac has ALWAYS been arrogant, always stood out, always BEEN THE WAY HE IS. When I look at Lil' Wayne I just see what wayne has BECOME . He hasn't always been this way and once I saw the tattoos and the way he shuns the media and tries to stand out I just see more and more of Tupac. And he tried to be that way he just didn't all of a sudden wake and was this, this was something ( IN MY OWN FUCKIN OPINION, remember that) that he studied and then transformed himself. You could see it from the first carter and the first dedication. Look at how Wayne positions himself, speaks arrogantly, and tries to put on the "I don't give a fuck what you think, and only god can judge me." thing that pac had going and I saw that since day one and watch him transform. Then from there I saw him build. Now pay attention to this: he's no longer writing (Biggies thing), staying all night in the studio (Tupacs thing), and last but not least gettin' dreads (Bob Marley). Now as wayne said HIMSELF; "Where's your originally? You are so fake.."

Imo, I don't ever think I could put Lil' Wayne in with the greats until he dies and I actually have room to compare them, as of now I just see him trying to fit the ROLES of the greats and throw in some mixes around it. Call it what you want, this is just my opinion.

        -Yeah da kid B

Doin' what the fuck I want, Hate me all the fuck you want. Real niggas fuck wit' me and I don't give a fuck who don't.

Biggie yes but not Tupac. TUPAC MADE MUSIC EVERYBODY COULD RELATE TO, MALE AND FEMALE. But with the tour and Tha Carter 3 sells he is doing pretty good. Not only that but his mixtapes, No Ceilings put the icing on the cake.

co sign. everyone is so caught up in the new wayne. Wayne said out his own mouth he got that tattoo on his belly because of Tupac. in two different interviews he also said he not go cut he dreads i because of Bob Marley, something about wisdom. Wayne is not original. some people on here don't really know those things you said about other artist, real hip-hop fans knows who's original and who's copying who. Wayne also said hes going to try to pull that Jay-Z retiring thing.

And to whoever said its cause his death hes so big I 100% agree, I think people made a martyr outta tupac.

Plus whoever said Pac covered real shit and spoke about treatment of women etc, he had just as many talkin shit about woman so I think thats kinda invalid,

Anyway right now I dont see the question being asked in 10 years is ''whoever'' at the level of weezy/marley/etc

Maybe after CIV and hopefully so cause he deserves it.
Pac talked shit about women just as much as Wayne?

Name some songs where he talked trash about women.

Wayne talks shit about women in(I'm not saying I don't like these songs but it's mainly bitch, bitch, sex and blah):
                Nina
                Dick Pleaser
                Lisa Marie
                Wayne on Me
                No Ceilings ft. Birdman
                Hoes
                Mrs.Officer
                I'm Going In
                Pussy Monster

And I'm pretty sure it's many more.....

Hey, I said pac had as many songs talkin bad about about woman as he did good, i.e fair xchange, how do you want it, I get around, thug in me thug in u, me and my girlfriend, but I agree, without doubt Wayne talks bout that more than just about any other rapper,

Not yet. Its not like u can ask someone in sweden about wayne and they go like " Oh yea i know him" , But if u'd ask someone about Marley/2Pac they'd atleast say , " Yea I've heared about him".
