I don't mean any offense by this, but probably cuz you are too young. He died in early 1999 and only got to drop 1 studio album while he was alive, so he never got really big. but those who take the time to listen to his music (especially his freestyles, dope) know that if he had the chance, he would be up there with the greats.

Sidebar: Anyone who is going to diss Big L, plz take some time to listen to his shit first. If you still think he's bad, that's your opinion. but you can't say he's whack just cuz you've never heard of him.

I see a lot of big L in Wayne. Big L's rhymes were similar in that it was like "I'll kill 100 guys and fuck 100 bitches while smokin a blunt" like youthful cocky waaay over the top lyrics.
Sort of an immortal kid persona. Punchlines and whole verses were fresh as fuck.


Big L is extremely underrated and if Wayne reminds me of anyone (in terms of overall attitude and themes) it's Big L.

People say Big L was a better freestyler. Thing is, Wayne doesn't freestyle.
But to be in all honesty, I have never heard of Big L, and listening to those video's didn't change my attitude towards him. Therefore, i choose Wayne > Big L.
