Static Major making Lollipop and then giving the song to Wayne as a gift is the sole reason why Wayne REALLY blew up commercially

If it weren't for Static Major, Wayne wouldn't be half as big as he is today.

I know this is random, but it just occurred to me when I was thinking about it.

I see what you're saying though, but the reason it blew up was because it was the album's single. The rest of the album was classic material and I would have accepted any track as a single.

im pretty sure it would have been the same auto-tune crying which would have became a hit for static whom produced legendary albums.

I guess you could look at it that way... Or you could say it was a good career move by him to give it to Wayne because if not for Lollipop there are tons of people who would have no fucking idea who Static Major is (including me ) Because I'm pretty sure almost any song off of C3 would've been a huge hit if it had been released as a single. Lol

It's definitely true.
SO many people did not know who Wayne was until Lollipop, in the mainstream.
However, he was known as a rapper.. 2007 the drought 3 was huge.
He was still voted under T.I in the king of the south though in 07.
Lollipop gave SO much promotion to Tha Carter III which helped sell 1,000,000 records in a week.
It's not the greatest song, but with the combination of Static having a hit record and Wayne's work on it, it worked out.
But you cannot deny that Lollipop changed Wayne's career. He became almost a icon in 08. More than a rapper.

Im not sure about dat.
Lollipop did help tha album but if i remember he was pretty damn famous before that. It blew up in summer 08, and before that he was on his remix game and shit wit like party like a rockstar and dat shawty lo song and shit. Plus da drought 3 was widely known
