Being in Texas, I heard Wayne's name around a lot even in 2000 at the height of Cash Money. My roomate had a copy of the prefix in 2003/2004? he pumped it a lot but i didnt pay much attention to it. I was just beginning to fall in love with Chopped and Screwed shit (it was always around in TX but it finally took me that summer).
It wasnt until a freind of mine in Seattle who never listens to rap gave me a copy of Dedication 2 in early 2007. It made me wonder why someone way out there who wasnt into rap somehow got into it. I didnt really get into that either.
It wasnt until Da Drought 3, driving, playing "Top Back" at a red light, lgihting up a blunt and listening to the snare echo off, I loved the beat then Wayne comes in and fucking grabbed my brain.

That was it.

Also at the time I couldnt stand that Mims song and Wayne took it to a new level.

I first started listen to Weezy when my friend played "Stuntin Like My Daddy" with Birdman. I think it was in 05 so i was like 10, but my "real" weezy "addiction" started right before Carter III came out, about when i was 12-13 years old.
