MfG!
ON TOPIC: Thanks for these different versions, never heard em
Just joined this forum just so I could post this.. I bought Tha Carter a couple months after it came out and to date it's still one of my favourite rap albums. I just got a deck for my car with USB so I wanted to put that cd on there but i didn't wanna rip it so I just downloaded it from a source instead. It blew my mind when I heard the different versions of these songs!! Thanks to this thread I don;t feel completely insane haha. The versions from mine (ones with more talking) are garbage compared to the ones that were actually supposed to be on there. Def glad I downloaded it now.. resurrected my love for this cd haha.
Ok so I have no idea how I got to this thread (3 years later nonetheless) but I'm curious. Is the tracklist on Tha Carter the same or is that different too?

Sorry for the bump but I thought id shed light on this. Some/all copies of Tha Carter released internationally (UK and Canada) had this intro/interlude/outro in place of the ones we know as standard. Also, Earthquake is replaced with Crack Ya Bottle ft. Reel.
My theory for Earthquake being replaced with Crack Ya Bottle is maybe cause the sample could not clear internationally (if that is even a thing). Idk bout walkin/inside walk out tho.
The Best Rapper Alive beat is different because the vocals/guitar sample is from Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark, and the sample probably could not get cleared.
I also have a theory that the Empire CIII leaks were on purpose because it was too hard/cost too much to pay out all the royalties on all of those soul samples that are all over the Drought is Over leaks
