Since Tha Carter II and the featured verses he had in that era, Wayne has been on a steady decline. His verses rarely make sense anymore -- just a bunch of random simple punchlines jumbled together. There's been a few exceptions "Go Getta" and his verse on "My Generation", for example, but otherwise his stuff has had no lyrical substance.

kadillak, lyrics are not the only criteria to judge a rapper.

Flow, delivery, presence on the mic, and versatility should be factored in. Wayne excels greater in those areas than most guys on that list.

For example, Elzhi is technically sound, but he's extremely boring and one-dimensional.

Black Thought, Mos Def, Talib Kweli - these guys are essentially clones of each other. They all sound exactly the same, have no style or personality, and have only one style of rapping.

Wayne should join Slaughterhouse when he gets out of prison. He would sale mad records with them and he would get really good hype...
