with respect to the op, this is kind of a fallacious theory. using the word "like", which in turn means using a "simile" does not deter from the greatness of a verse. there were plenty of metaphors and similes used in 07' during wayne's prime (Da Drought 3, the drought is over 2, Lilweezyana). i understand your train of thought, but in my opinon, some of wayne's hardest 16's are when there isn't a great rapper on the track with him..when there's no pressure he sometimes spaz's and goes ham, becuase he's "free" to do whatever, the reason a lot of people feel his best work is found on mixtapes.

I literally notice that currently wayne only tries when he is on the track with Eminem. All of his songs he is just fucking around with alright punchlines on featured songs because he already knows that no one is fucking with him. But when when it comes to No love, drop the world, and Forever(new verse) he is lyrical not playing around just murdering shit. Not only that but if you really followed wayne back in his mixtape consistency days and cater 2. He barely uses the word "like" and "as". But every time he spits a mediocre verse now he use "like" alot since he doesn't try. Once again proving my point songs like no love, drop the world, and forever(both verses) he doesn't use "like" at all like great rappers do. Actually every raw verse wayne spits he uses "like" probably once or twice except Upgrade you. But my overall point is wayne knows that he unless your better than him he doesn't even have to try on a song he'll just fuck around and be funny which is dope. But at the same time Eminem is bring back the carter in him. I just wish he was proving the world he was the best AGAIN.
