Kanye is yet to slump, his experimental album 808's was excellent and it showed in sales and later reviews. Rebirth flopped in both categories. Listen to Jesus Walks, Diamonds from Sierra Leone or any tracks from MBDTF.

His albums performed better critically and on average sold more and finally Kanye has won more awards even though like you said Wayne has been the game for 20 odd years.
