Your logic fails, if you don't want to bring up critics (who are well respected across the music industry); lets talk about awards. Kanye has won 14 Grammy's compared to Wayne's 4. Shit Kanye has won more Grammy's than Wayne has been nominated in (14-10).
What else is there, maybe you'll say C3 sold 1 million. Well I'm sure if you found the average of all Wayne's album sales compared to Kanye's that Kanye would win. (Give me 10-30 mins and I'll give you a definitive answer)
So all logical points to Kanye>Wayne. So if you have any other logical answers tell me.

Edit- Kanye first week sales average is 677,036. (I'm not taking MBDTF into account as the sales aren't out yet.)
Wayne- Can't get a definative answer as I can only find CIII, Rebirth and IANAHB sales.

Kanye WAS good back when he first came out, but now it seems like he's getting TOO serious in his work, and it's not even rap/hip-hop anymore. I just don't sit there and vibe to his music nowadays.

Wayne, however, has never seized to amaze me. Maybe with a few rock songs (Mosh Pit, Get a Life) But the rest of his career, i enjoyed deeply, and hoping to continue that way.
