Because Power and Runaway didn't have that much of an appeal on the mainstream audience. All of the Lights is still playing, but just not as much. The winner of the Rap Album of the Year award hasn't come out with an album yet this year, so I'm saying it won't be Kanye or Nicki. I would say it is between Wayne and Drake, but I believe the cutoff for the "year" in the eyes of the Grammys is in September, which is when the rumored release date for Take Care is. Wayne should win Rap Album of the Year; there is little to no competition, but even if there was some good competition, I have enough faith in Wayne and C4 to say that he would win anyway.

Good point, I forgot about Watch the Throne, but I don't think that a collaboration album has ever won Rap Album of the Year. Why are you doubting C4 so much? I'm expecting 750k-1mil first week album sales if he will finally release this mainstream single.

I can't see Eminem or Jay-Z releasing solo projects this year, but I know that Kanye is supposed to release another solo album this summer, though I doubt that will end up happening. If he is making another album so soon though, that means he doesn't believe that MBDTF is his best work. If you don't believe in your own work, there is no way that others will believe in it. I have listened to MBDTF completely between 10 and 20 times, but it has gotten pretty boring to me. Pink Friday I have listened to around the same number of times and I still enjoy it. Either way, no matter what happens, Wayne will not disappoint with C4. He will win Rap Album of the Year. My play count on iTunes for 6F7F is 92 and I still love listening to it. My play count for John is 46 and, at first, I disliked it, but it is growing on me. Just look at the view count for John on VEVO. It has 1.5 million views in 48 hours. That is 31,250 views per hour, which is very good for a song that doesn't appeal to mainstream audiences. If the mainstream single is anything like "You Da Shit" (equal or better), Wayne is set and C4 will be fine.

What are you talking about? Releasing an album so soon after MBDTF does not mean he isn't confident in his own work??? His album might be overplayed to shit now and yes some of it is kinda boring now but Grammy's are all about numbers and reviews. Kanye has a critically acclaimed album. It's got countless 10/10 reviews. Thats definitely going to play a major role in the choice. It's also gone platinum which is a huge factor in Grammy nominations. Unless Wayne delivers something which is critically acclaimed across all respectable critics, it's definitely not going to win against Kanye or Nicki ..
