  • Lil Wayne's trademark punchlines

The ones we all hate(well some of us) eg. Pockets On, We in the building, etc etc. Anyways during the whole time I hated when he said some of those, but then today I looked at it from his point of view, Lil Wayne is actually innovating ways to spit rhymes. I realized this after I heard someone use "Im in the building". This is exactly like how someone said "changing the game" and using money punch lines or "lifes a bitch" using the bitch to represent a female and making punch lines and everyone started doing it. So Lil Wayne is basically starting trends in hip hop and rap which I found really cool.

Well idk but thats just my view on it now.

yeah those punchlines are getting annoying but ya I see what you're saying but the ones that I hate is when he pauses.... Like this one " thats the 9 nigga ughhh.... Rondo"
So Misunderstood but whats the world without Enigma

Yea but too many punch lines get annoyin' after a while. I also hate when he does tha pauses and then adds a name or thing dat he was referrin' 2 in his punchline. Also, it's cool he's startin' a trend but then other ppl on YM start usin' them or makin' their own stupid ones, like tha ones Nicki uses thru out her whole album... YM shouldn't be known 4 punch lines; in my opinion. Well, let's hope he comes up wit new punch lines or just uses less of them in C4.

            Reaching a little lol.

Wayne should keep using the new punchlines and that life is a bitch, etc. As long as he stops using the high pitch voice. Only post jail songs that really bug me is Roman's Revenge 2. That flow is so obnoxious.

Good to see u finally caught on. Nobody is doing anything totally new in rap or music, but wayne is the master and has been the master of finding new ways to say old things. In 2007 on mtv's hottest list thing they said the same thing about wayne. The way he delivers and comes up with ways to say things constantly is commendable at the least.

                Thumbs up.

With about 30 years of hip-hop under its belt, how can stuff not get said over and over... thats where wayne differs, he'll take one of those, flip it on its head, and kick that shit outta "the buildin".

actually he latest "pockets on" line was pretty clever. In the rolling stones article he said that he didnt like the warden because the warden didnt like him because he knew wayne had money. in welcome to my hood wayne says "back from hell, cell 23, tell the warden kiss my ass, pockets on moniq" pretty much saying fuck you i AM rich to the warden
