To counter you argument, you can't argue what it did for listeners of Wayne, it's mainly because of this song that Wayne has so many detractors, want proof go to youtube, urban dictionary.

Even though lollipop gave a shit load of ignorant haters actual evidence to use against him, its impossible to ignore his talent (unless your one of the ignorant haters) and its certainly impossible to ignore his success. Lollipop was a big contributor to his success. CIII sold about 1,006,000 copies its first week. I think its safe to say that without lollipop, CIII wouldnt have sold like it did. Even though it may have caused a bunch of ignorant people to scream "nas come do something about this, save hip hop blah blah blah" (btw, i cant really remember the last time nas was a relevent contributor to the rap game), he certainly turned a shit load of 14-17 yr old white girls into groupies.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, if you dont think that lollipop was great than thats you. Personally i like the record, it bangs in the club, the bitches love it, and the beat is on fire.

However, you cant argue what Lollipop did for Tha Carter III and for Lil Wayne. It reached #1 on every relevant U.S Billboard Chart and in 5 other countries. Its certified 5x platinum. Everybody, everywhere was bangin this track.

Yea, I feel where you're coming from. I like the song too don't get me wrong, it's great for what it's supposed to be. No doubting it's success of course
