  • Censored vs. Edited

I hate when I'm listening to a song on the radio or wherever it would have to be censored, and when they get to a "bad word" it's all blurred out or just silenced. It throws the song off for me. 6'7' for example. "Excuse My Charisma, Vodka With A Spritzer/ Swagga Down Pat, Call My IsShhH Patricia". I remember when Millie came out, Wayne simply rerecorded it and replaced the "bad words". "And The Al-Mighty Power Of....Allah" or "Had A Plate Of Shy Chick" etc.

Personally I think if you're going to make a song a Single, you should record two versions, a Radio Version and the CD version, so that the fluency isn't interrupted. What you think?

SN: Wasn't sure if I wanted to put this in General Discussion or here so I just stuck it here. If need be, Mods can move it.

I agree, the only song that did sound dope while being censored is Every Girl.

And we knew a Black President wouldn't change shit..

I think Best I Ever had sounded so much better after they edited the chorus for the clean version. But i agree with what ur sayin man, i hate missing words in songs.

That's why you should stop listening to the radio and get the dirty version (il)legally off the internet, put it on a CD/MP3 player, and play it in the car.

The only time I remember thinking "Damn that was harder than the actual song" was the radio version of Right Above It where it goes "Bir---Bi-Bi-Birrrdman Jr, 11th grade."

Thought about this because I was listening to Whatever You Like. lol. A lot of artists do this. When Wayne said " 6'7' is going to be delayed because I hate when the Radio fucks up the Clean version " i thought he was actually going to re-record.

Edit: YMCMFAN, true. Might start doing that.

censored! editing always changes the songs flow and feeling

Explicit > clean any day... its what the artists put out originally... i feel it takes away from their work.

Thats what sucks about djing. New songs come out without a clean version and dj's have to edit themselves.

well the reason they didnt release 6 Foot 7 Foot the day it was going to come out originally was because the YMCMB crew were making their own clean/edited version... because Wayne hates when dj's edit them themselves
