  • Kant Nobody Lyrics

    What's good, legends?

I have an interesting topic for you today.

While listening, and reading, the lyrics to Kant Nobody, I came across a line where the interpretation is questionable.

    The timestamp is 1:31-1:33.

What do you believe Wayne is saying?

Option 1: "Weezy F. and the F is for F Bomber" (As in a F Bomber)

Option 2: "Weezy F. and the F is for F Bama" (Instead of OBama)

I'd appreciate your input before you look up the default interpretation, and before I reveal which of the two is mine.

    option 1 mate:

either he compares himself to an f-bomber fighter jet; saying he drops bombs

    or

he’s saying F bomber because he says the F*** word a lot

i think this would make sense because the original meaning of the F word in Weezy F baby was for ‘fucking’; he used to say weezy fucking baby a lot in his early songs

Excellent interpretation that is easy to agree with and why I'm torn between the two.

Although, he does mention Jeff Daumer in the next line, which would put two naming allusions in a row if Option 2 is correct. The Obama reference also works because he himself made a reference to Wayne in his speech, and Wayne calls himself "President Carter."

I should have included and Option 3 for "Both"

definitely not F Obama, I don’t think he would ever say that.

Not " F Obama" but "Fbama" instead of Obama.

              Hahaha! I love it.

Then I must advocate for both. Wayne is known for layering meaning. Furthermore, in the past 10 years we've seen artists layering different words through a single word by altering the word's sound. This turns the word into a [hybrid] homophone that can add depth to the line's meaning.

                  I must kindly disagree.

We are talking subjective interpretations. Without the man's input himself, any interpretation can be accepted with viable evidence, which I have provided.

Furthermore, most artists would agree that the consumer's interpretation is viable on its own without need of the artists approval or even evidence. They would want the audience to take what they can, on their own, from a project.

To make a generalized statement such as, "the only one that can make sense," or even just the word "only" limits all parties in a subjective arena. (This originates from the saying, "Never say never")

Although we may disagree on the interpretation of the lyrics, I think it's both options, I hope you can agree with my perspective on interpretations.

                  I appreciate your input.
