  • Saying hello + question about using a Wayne verse/blend

Hey guys, been a long time Weezy fan, but I wanted to not only introduce myself but also ask about something I came across a few days ago.

There were these producers (legit from what I understand, co-signed by a couple of well known rappers) selling what I ended up finding out through this forum is the Wayne verse from P89's "WAR", and I bought a license to use it for 250 us dollars.

I know it's a really old verse, but just wanted to run it by you guys and tell me if you think it's alright to use it? Or any information as to its history because I am really curious about how these producers ended up with the rights for it.

I am actually working a lot on the production of the verse and not just pasting it on top of my beats, I've not been working on music for a few years but I found a similar BPM demo that I had never fully finished, and even though it's mumble from my recordings, Wayne's verse goes in there so well. I also added autotune to it so it sounds like it's from a more recent time than late 2000s.

Anyway, I have reached out to the distributor who handles my streaming uploads with the contract these guys sent me to make sure I can upload the song with that alone. But I did pay with Paypal so I could always claim it's a scam if it turns out I can't upload to streaming with that license (I asked the producers before purchase and they said yes)

Thank you I'd appreciate any information Sorry if this is not the correct subforum for this btw!

Right, no I understand it wouldn't be an exclusive, I paid only 250 anyway. I just want to know what's the consensus on it? Maybe it's a weird question.

Here's the song so far, I posted it privately on my soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/kaipeaks/let-...social_sharing

I think if you share it with DSPs it will get taken down for copyright infringement maybe.

Yeah that's why I emailed my distributor who sends to DSPs. My understanding is with the contract I paid 250 for I should be able to post the song with the feature but I don't know, seems fishy. I will see what they say and claim my money with Paypal if it turns out I can't publish it.
