Do you think it was good marketing to announce Tha Carter VI release date for 4 months time?

I feel like in 2025 most rappers keep the release date private and a surprise.

I guess my question is do you think this will work better for Lil Wayne than surprise dropping the album ?

Probably not. Surprise release would not work again. Need full rollout. For reference both Travis Scott and Drake last solo albums were announced and had single before release. In addition Nicki and Eminem also had date and pre released singles.
