Over the years we have seen Wayne mature from a rookie in a rap group to undoubtedly one of hip hop's most iconic figures of all time. from 2006-2009 he was the best rapper alive, he had the best verses, made the most noise, had the most swag, had the most features and gained the respect of hip hop legends, such as Nas (who stated Lil Wayne is keeping the game alive), Andre 3k and Jay Z. I would like to discuss how much Wayne has changed and what elements he is missing that made him the best rappers back in his "prime". Even though i think Lil Wayne still has the potential to get back to form, it seems that he has found a comfortable place in rap and no longer puts in the extra work to make sure his music and verse are of the potency that we have come to expect....So HONESTLY are you satisfied with the music that Wayne is putting out and if so why and if not why not...This is not to argue or debate if you like Wayne or not but its a thread about dissecting the different components that made Wayne who he is and how to many he has lost his touch and his passion for making great music.

Every rapper has their prime, Wayne's was 2006-No Ceilings. Wayne's flow is awful now compared to back then, it's 2011 and he's still using the used up supa dupa flow which he sucks at executing.

Only person who could say Wayne's awful is Thp, he's the only person on here who has heard some of Wayne's C4... So far I never heard say nothing but good things about the album.

As for features. Yes, he's fallen off. But there's room for him to jump back on.
Can't tell with albums, since the last album he truely made, he was higher than a fucking airplane (Rebirth) and the other one, he was in jail.

He's been on a steady decline for awhile now. Like you said, he was on the top of the hip-hop world, running shit, and now either no music comes out, or, when it does it's nothing to amazing (last few features). In 07-08, Wayne had a ton of features, and killed damn near every one.
If I find myself listening to Wayne, it's either:
A) A new song just came out and need to judge it
B) Listening to old shit that he made in his prime.
No hate, but I don't see Wayne ever getting back to where we as fans would like him to be.

Yeah, I'm not ready to say anything until I hear more C4. His features have been lame, not all of em but most of them have been lately. He use to make longer verses & better ones in features... But I think he's focusing on his own album before anyone else's shit. So he don't care to get creative much. When he was doing crazy features, he wasn't even working on an album so he had more time to do whatever. But right now, he's working with a due date. Just saying.

I have a feeling c4 is going to meet and/or exceed many peoples expectations. We can't really say if he has lost his touch or not until the album drops
Wayne just doesn't go as hard as he can anymore, he probably does this on tracks he doesn't really care about. Like he said in the green & yellow interview "i could have gone way harder." And I don't think he cares that much anymore tbh. "I WANT Nicki and Drake to do wayyy better than me." I wish he put more effort into these recent songs though
Buuuuut obviously he put alot of work in TCIV and i'm betting he went in as hard as he could to show people he still got it.
