rofl if you convert a m4a to wav its converting lossy to lossless so the frequency levels arent that high as the cds...256 from itunes cuts off at 18-19k frequency range while wav converted from a cds frequency levels peak at 23-24k... that means it isn't as clear, get some better headphones and you will hear the difference..
