but ya'll mean 'sold out' as in 'appealing to the general masses', which is something wayne's been trying to do since long before C3. so why is everyone getting butt hurt over it now?
nope kanye west didnt sell out. his music from day 1 has been the same and he's only gotten better. 808s and heartbreak was a beautiful album that had a clear subject matter of love and hate.

he didnt become like wayne who started off amazing and then into a dud with experimental rock bullshit albums and crappy commercial songs just to make money. in fact, kanye is a better musician/rapper than wayne. sorry i still love wayne but he fell off hard.

'ye didn't sell out? be serious.

& how "beautiful" of an album 'heartbrakes' was depends completely on the listener. i, for one, could piss on that album, & i used to hold kanye in my top 5 DOA.

'ye hasn't been 'ye since college dropout. & i guess that you chalk "Better, Faster, Stronger"'s extreme differences in sound up to artistic expression, when in actuality it is him just broadening his sound and trying to appeal to the masses.

it's the goal of super star hip hop - to sell out. what other genre of music celebrates the millions they make? none, and you'll even hear most rock bands still singing about the shitty old days ten years in to their career.

i say that to say this; the goal of hip hop is to sell out, but we shouldn't frown upon it as hip hop fans, since ultimately what we want is the best for the artists we appreciate.

edit - & as far as rapping goes, kanye ain't touching wayne. kanye's the better artist, as a whole, musically - but rapping? wayne would eat him alive.

someone just needs to light a fire up under wayne's ass & tell him he's not the shit anymore.

So Wayne has sold out because he LIKES to do songs like Lollipop, Got Money, Mrs. Officer, You Da Shit, and How to Love?

I can't wait until you get back on the bandwagon after C4.
