Its like this, Wayne has some songs on C4 that rank among the best I've heard from him in a very long time. So that's why when I see comments like, "Wayne doesnt know how to make songs" I'm scratching my head like wtf...

If you're talking about song structure, Wayne has never been big on that, he just goes. For one, he made an actual SONG for the first time on this album, "HTL" hate it but its true.

Another thing, this is literally Wayne's best lyrically since C2.

If I have any complaints, its that its not as commercial as C3. But is that even a complaint? This album is alot more hip hop oriented. Another, I dont like 'Ho to Hate'. But I didnt like "Got money" either. T-Pain is just ass. Period.


From an objective stand point, its not as lyrical as C2 but it shows Wayne attempting at the very least to be on that level. As ooposed to the filler heaven that was C3. That's all.

Everyone has their opinions....mine is.....Wayne has never been the best artist...but he was the always the best rapper...because his rapping is not as good...his songs are not as good.....I dont know who picks the tracks for the album...but they fucked up not making mirror one of the singles......Wayne needs to stop recycling shit.......(abortion, John)..it just seems to that he is taking the easy way out....Songs like President Carter shows where Wayne can possibly be is he remained focused for more than a bar......I think Carter IV is solid....Im big wayne fan.....that is not good enough for me....Wayne is my favorite and I expect him to be the best.......so forgive me if I expected a classic....there were some highlights though (Blunt Blowing, Mirror, and President Carter) are great songs....How To Hate, The Intro is horrible...

Intro - Punchline after punchline, solid beat. 7/10

Blunt Blowin' - Crazy flow, crazy bars, crazy hook, crazy beat. Crazy song. 9/10

Megaman - Very similar to the Intro, reminds me of Ransom also. 7.5/10

6 Foot 7 Foot - Old but still gotta appricitate Wayne's and Cory's bars here. 7/10

Nightmares of The Bottom - Beautiful beat, nice verses. 8/10

She Will - Decent verses, nice hook and crazy beat. Should've been a third verse. 6.5/10

How To Hate - My least favorite song on the album, should'nt have made the album. 5/10

Interlude - Tech and Andre murder this shit! Nothing else to say about this one. 8/10

John - Really should have been a bonus track.. something to bump to in the car I guess. 5.5/10

Abortion - Rebirth type feel on this one with some real lyrical verses, love it. 9/10

So Special - Beat is real nice and so is the hook but Wayne should have and could have done better. 7/10

President Carter - Man.. this is the best song on the album. Outstanding lyrics and beat. 9.5/10

It's Good - Very good song, maybe would have been better if it had a hook? Either way, all three rappers murked. 8/10

Outro - Bun B was average, Nas was awesome, Shyne was terrible and Busta was good. 6.5/10

I Like The View - Heard this hook a while back in a magazine, solid verses and decent beat. 6.5/10

Mirror - This song will blow up, Wayne with some deep verses and a good Bruno Mars hook. 8.5/10

Two Shots - Wow, sounds like some Carter I stuff. I can dig it. 7/10


Overall: Good album, could have been much better if a couple songs were replaced and Wayne took out some filler lines but overall it's still a good album. 7.5/10
